Verathon Introduces the GlideScope(R) Cobalt Advanced Video Laryngoscope (AVL); New Digital Technology Facilitates Quick Intubations

BOTHELL, Wash., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Verathon Inc. is pleased to introduce the GlideScope(®) Cobalt AVL, an advanced video laryngoscope that provides airway views in DVD clarity, enabling quick intubation. The new single use laryngoscope, featuring a digital color monitor and digital camera, offers integrated real-time recording as well as advanced resolution output for OR theater viewing. This latest addition to the GlideScope(®) brand also provides a unique on-board video tutorial. The Cobalt AVL will debut at the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Annual Meeting on October 18, in New Orleans.

GlideScope(®) Cobalt AVL consists of: a slim, reusable video baton which houses a high-resolution camera with a patented anti-fogging mechanism to resist lens contamination; a non-glare color monitor; and single-use, sterile GVL(®) Stats in four sizes designed for a wide range of patient weights and sizes - from small to morbidly obese.

The new Cobalt AVL offers a unique ergonomic design, several innovative "smart" features and rugged construction, ideal for a variety of clinical settings. Easy to use, the Cobalt AVL's recording options help confirm tube placement, and the onboard tutorial makes the instrument easy to learn and to teach.
