Varian Medical Systems Schedules Investor Meeting at ASTRO in Miami Beach, FL

PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) will hold an investor event on Tuesday, October 4, at the annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in Miami Beach.  Investors and members of the financial community are invited to join senior management for a tour of the company's exhibition at ASTRO.

Varian will host a meeting with management, beginning with breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and presentations at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, 1601 Collins Ave. Miami, in the Americana Salon Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Main Tower.  The presentations will be followed by a tour of Varian's ASTRO booth at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Booth #1825 – from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.  

Management presentations will focus on advances in radiotherapy and radiosurgery as well as new technologies and products within the company's Oncology Systems, and emerging businesses.  Management will include: Varian Medical Systems' CEO and President Tim Guertin; Executive Vice President and Oncology Systems President Dow Wilson; Oncology Service Vice President Kolleen Kennedy; Senior Vice President and CFO Elisha Finney; Vice President Emerging Businesses Lester Boeh; and Investor Relations Vice President Spencer Sias.
