Date:12/21/2011

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Virtual Radiologic (vRad), a technology-enabled national radiology practice, announced today that seven diagnostic radiologists from Montgomery Radiology Associates (MRA) have joined its Pennsylvania-based vRad Radiology Alliance partner, Diagnostic Imaging Inc. (DII). These former MRA radiologists will continue to serve Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (PMMC) and join the more than 60 DII physicians serving Philadelphia and surrounding counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

PMMC is the second hospital DII has added since joining vRad Alliance in September of this year. vRad Radiology Alliance, the leading integrated national radiology network, includes both local on-site radiology practices and the largest teleradiology practice in the world. As a vRad Radiology Alliance member, DII and the hospitals it serves benefit from:

  • the shared expertise of over 400 radiologists spanning all radiology subspecialties
  • vRad's next-generation technology platform, delivering industry-leading efficiencies in radiologist workflow
  • quality assurance programs delivering the highest demonstrated accuracy in radiology today
  • 24/7/365 clinical and operational support
  • enhanced communication tools for hospitals and ordering physicians

Dr. Brian Solomon will remain in his leadership position as Chairman of the radiology department at PMMC. Dr. Solomon commented, "Combining our practice with DII leverages the vRad Alliance infrastructure enabling us to provide even better patient care at Pottstown. This partnership will best position our practice for continued success in an evolving healthcare market."

"We are excited to have these seven radiologists join DII and expand our vRad Alliance program. Through this partnership, they will have access to vRad's innovative technology infrastructure and unparalleled clinical and operational support. Our partnership with vRad enables us to enhance delivery of radiology services and drive effective, value-added change," said Dr. Bruce Lehrman, President of DII.
