LABSCO Hires George Willett as New Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Laboratory Supply Company (LABSCO), the largest privately held supplier of diagnostic instrumentation and clinical laboratory products to hospitals, physician office laboratories, reference labs and other non-acute care settings in the United States, continues to expand its executive leadership team with the new appointment of George Willett as vice president and chief financial officer.

Willett's career has included over 17 years serving as chief financial officer for several leading companies.  He comes to LABSCO from Summit Energy, Louisville, Ky., where he supported the successful completion of two acquisitions and the subsequent sale of the company.  Previous to Summit, Willett was chief financial officer at National Processing Company and High Speed Access Corporation, both of Louisville, Ky., American Pathology Associates, Nashville, Tenn., and Regent Communications, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio.  Willett started his finance career as an auditor for Coopers & Lybrand and corporate accounting officer at the United States Shoe Corporation, both of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Willett is a graduate of Cincinnati's Xavier University.

"George brings a wealth of valuable financial knowledge, management and experience to our executive team, and we are honored he is joining us," Steve Nielsen, LABSCO's chairman and chief executive officer, said.  "We look forward to his contributions to corporate finance, strategy development and execution as we work to provide an industry leading service experience to our customers and suppliers."

LABSCO also announced key additions to its sales management team with the hiring of Dwight Bowlin as branch sales manager for Lafayette, La., and surrounding service areas, and the promotion of Dean Schumacher to sales manager for the Lees Summit, Mo./Des Moines, Iowa, region.  Prior to LABSCO, Bowlin worked for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics as national distribution relations manager.  Bowlin has more than 30 years of biomedical, clinical laboratory and medical product sales experience with many healthcare companies.  Schumacher is an experienced associate who has made valuable contributions to LABSCO's sales efforts.

"We are excited to add Dwight and Dean to our growing sales management team.  We are committed to building an industry-leading sales organization and our customers will clearly benefit from their extensive experience in sales and knowledge of laboratory products and distribution," said Joel Weihe, LABSCO's vice president of sales and marketing.
