Date:12/19/2013

BOSTON, Dec. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- inviCRO hires Stefan Linehan as Director of Ex Vivo Research & Imaging Services

BOSTON, MA—inviCRO is pleased to announce the hiring of Stefan Linehan, MS, as the Director of Ex Vivo Research & Imaging Services. He will integrate in vivo and ex vivo imaging technologies and help bring 3D autoradiography capabilities to inviCRO's newly opened laboratory.

As the industry expert on cryo-imaging techniques, Linehan developed the Cryo-Imaging Quantitative Tomography (CIQuanT) system, which animates entire carcasses of study animals for tissue structural mapping and size determination. The generated information will give analysts unique perspectives inside animals. inviCRO plans to merge innovative in vivo and ex vivo imaging techniques in order to improve understanding of the drug development process

Jack Hoppin, Ph.D., co-founder and managing partner of inviCRO, stated, "Stefan's appointment is a great addition to our team. Through his efforts, our ex vivo division will provide a bridge between the ex vivo and in vivo preclinical nuclear imaging efforts. This novel approach allows researchers to study the biodistribution of pharmaceuticals on a broad array of temporal and spatial resolutions."

Linehan has fifteen years of experience in the field, holding previous positions at XenoBiotic Laboratories and WIL Research Laboratories, where he set up quantitative whole body autoradiography (QWBA) capabilities and conducted mass balance/tissue distribution studies. He has also worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, where he conducted WBA and other tissue distribution studies. Linehan received his Masters in Clinical Biochemistry from Griffith University in Queensland, Australia and his Bachelors in Biology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. Linehan is currently the President of the Society for Whole Body Autoradiography (SWBA) and has held multiple Executive Committee Officer positions since 2003.
