iMedX Announces Acquisition of Electronic Medical Transcription Services, Inc.

SHELTON, Conn., July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- iMedX Inc., a leading healthcare software and services company, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the medical transcription assets from Florida-based Electronic Medical Transcription Services, Inc. ("eMTS").  With this acquisition, iMedX adds eMTS's many major hospitals and surgery centers nationwide to its customer base.

As a result of this acquisition, iMedX will benefit from an expanded base of customers and greater penetration in the hospital market. eMTS's customers will have access to advanced technology through iMedX's cloud-based healthcare information solutions – TurboFlow® transcription management platform, TurboScribe® document management, and TurboRx® electronic prescribing. Additionally iMedX's TurboDox™ - a blend of technology and process - will increase physician usage of EHRs through dictation, and will help doctors will remain productive even as EHR's are being implemented.

Venkat Sharma, iMedX's President and CEO, along with the current iMedX management team, will lead the combined companies. eMTS's current production and customer service team will continue to support and grow its loyal customer base as eMTS's customers are integrated into iMedX.
