Date:7/5/2012

LOUISVILLE, Ky., July 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ZirMed®, preeminent provider of revenue cycle and information solutions for healthcare, today announced it has achieved full accreditation with the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). EHNAC's HNAP accreditation recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions, and ensures compliance with industry-established standards and HIPAA regulations.

ZirMed is now approved as an EHNAC HNAP-EHN accredited organization through March 17th, 2014.  In the summer of 2011, ZirMed received recognition from EHNAC for meeting the EHNAC HIPAA 5010 Readiness Assessment Program requirements, and achieved EHNAC HNAP certification previously in 2010.

"We are very pleased to earn EHNAC certification, a testament to our solution's ability to protect sensitive healthcare data through superior operational process and technology," said Tom Butts, CEO of ZirMed. "Accreditation through EHNAC gives us the highest third-party validation that our system's comply with and exceed data security and privacy requirements. We offer our current and prospective customers the peace of mind of EHNAC certification coupled with industry-leading support and service."

Through the consultative review process, EHNAC evaluated ZirMed in areas of privacy measures, systems availability and security infrastructure. In addition, EHNAC reviewed the organization's process of managing and transferring protected health information and determined that the organization meets or exceeds all EHNAC criteria and industry standards. Through completion of the rigorous accreditation process, the organization demonstrates to its constituents, adherence to strict standards and participation in the comprehensive, objective evaluation of its business.

"With recent changes in legislation and compliance requirements, this is a crucial time for healthcare networks to ensure that they're adhering to the latest standards in privacy, security and confidentiality," noted Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. "In order to earn EHNAC HNAP accreditation, healthcare networks are required to demonstrate excellence and a commitment to ensuring the security and privacy of health data processing and transactions for their customers. ZirMed joins this select group of HNAP-accredited organizations."
