ZONARE Scores in Clinical Applications, Performance and Customer Support & Service in KLAS 2011 Ultrasound Report

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ZONARE Medical Systems, a global developer of high-end ultrasound systems, today announced it ranked highest in performance across a number of clinical applications and ranked first or second in several customer support and service categories in the KLAS  "Ultrasound 2011: Innovation on the Move" report.

According to KLAS, a research firm specializing in monitoring and reporting the performance of information technology and medical imaging vendors in the healthcare field, ZONARE has moved from a point-of-care solution to a real option in general imaging with strong performance across a variety of clinical applications.

In the report, ZONARE outperformed other vendors in several aspects of the "Service & Support" category, including "Quality of Phone/Web Service" and "Proactive Service".  In the "Sales & Contracting" categories, ZONARE achieved a 100 percent ranking in the "avoids nickel-and-diming" grouping.

"This is consistent with our exclusive ultrasound focus and commitment to being an easy company with which to do business.  Our goal is for every ZONARE user to have a positive customer experience, which starts in the sales and contracting process and continues with stellar system performance and industry leading support and service," said Jay D. Miller, president and CEO of ZONARE.  "We are extremely gratified that ZONARE has been recognized again for outstanding customer satisfaction and loyalty and we will continue to work hard to maintain that trust among our users."

The "Ultrasound 2011: Innovation on the Move" report from KLAS focused on system size, penetration, and image quality as the volume of ultrasound exams increases. KLAS interviewed health care providers on their need for systems that can perform across multiple specialties and that are easy to move because some of the increase means that ultrasound is being utilized in more departments across the healthcare enterprise.

"Scoring the highest across a number of clinical scanning areas, including cardiac, oncology and pediatric applications, ZONARE offers a very mobile system at a good value to customers," said Emily Crane, lead author for the KLAS report. "Evolving from a point of care solution, ZONARE has a stronger role in many radiology departments as a general imaging system."
