Wound Management to Participate at Save A Leg, Save a Life Foundation National Conference

FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wound Management Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: WNDM), a rapidly growing provider of specialty medical products, announced today that the company will actively participate at the Save A Leg, Save a Life Foundation National Conference (SALSAL) that opens in Orlando tomorrow, October 8.

In addition to exhibiting its CellerateRX Technology at the conference, the company will conduct a workshop entitled "The Benefits of Collagen in Wound Healing: Methods of Action and Selection of Collagen Containing Dressings." The discussion will include the role of activated collagen product CellerateRX in wound management and how it differs from other collagen products.

Scott Haire, CEO of Wound Management Technologies, said, "Wound Management Technologies, through two subsidiaries, is participating in one of the fastest growing medical markets worldwide. The total global biomaterials market is currently $28 billion and is expected to exceed $58 billion in the next five years. The orthopedic biomaterials market is approximately $10 billion alone, driven by improved patient benefits, a shorter FDA approval cycle, and an aging population ever more aware of biomaterial benefits."

"We are delighted to be exhibiting at the SALSAL conference," states Cathy Bradshaw, President of Wound Care Innovations. "Diabetic wounds and the incidence of amputations is a serious issue in healthcare. The financial impact on the healthcare system is astronomical and the quality of life issues for patients are immeasurable. Wound care products that can manage these wounds effectively can help save limbs. Studies continue to support CellerateRx®'s effectiveness in diabetic and other wounds."
