Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Expands Antitrust Practice

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, today announced that it has hired Stuart M. Chemtob as Senior Of Counsel in the firm's antitrust practice. Prior to joining the firm, Chemtob had served for more than 30 years in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), most recently as Special Counsel for International Trade. He will be based in the firm's Washington, D.C., office.

Chemtob joined the DOJ in 1980 as a trial attorney, and then served as Special Counsel for International Trade from 1987 to 2012. During his tenure, he acted as the primary liaison to the antitrust enforcement agencies of the major Asian antitrust jurisdictions, including those in Japan, China, Korea, and Taiwan. In addition, he obtained a deep understanding of the criminal and civil enforcement policies and procedures of the Antitrust Division, advised DOJ investigatory staff on international enforcement issues, and represented the DOJ
