WellTok Named Colorado Company to Watch for 2012
Date:6/25/2012

DENVER, June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- WellTok®, Inc., developer of CafeWell™, the social health network to get well and stay well, was named as one of the 2012 Colorado Companies to Watch at an award ceremony on Friday, June 22nd.  The annual award program recognizes 50 Colorado companies based on their revenue growth, unique industry position, job creation, and community impact.  Scott Rotermund represented WellTok in accepting the award Friday night in Denver.

"The pioneering application of new social networking and gaming technology in our CafeWell social health network is solving the single most vexing challenge of the healthcare system – getting consumers engaged," said WellTok co-founder and president, Scott Rotermund.  "Just as one example, everyone has seen that the obesity statistics and incidence of diseases that stem from it, continue an alarming climb. However, WellTok's ability to drive a rapid and dramatic improvement in consumers' engagement with their health is helping employers, health plans, and hospital systems to move people the other way."

Jeff Cohen, WellTok's co-founder and vice president of product strategy, added, "The proof is in the numbers.  Among our clients, we've seen nearly a 40% jump in consumers' positive affinity for their health benefits provider.  And, among consumers, CafeWell changes healthy behavior.  In our latest research, 50% of people exercised less than twice per week before joining CafeWell, and now 80% are exercising more than five times per week.  In just the first six months in one client program, CafeWell members logged more than 685 million steps.  Those results demonstrate the kind of engagement that can truly address the country's healthcare problems."
