WED/RLS Foundation Sheds Light On TranquilMed's Drug-free Solution
Date:7/18/2013

PROVO, Utah, July 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TranquilMed, improving quality of life for RLS sufferers through light therapy, announced that the WED Foundation (formerly the RLS Foundation) provided a favorable review on their model 120 RL, in their newly improved newsletter, Nightwalkers. The results showed the model 120 RL to be as effective as prescription drugs, without the harmful side effects.

According to the WED Foundation, "This new NightWalkers feature was developed after many requests from our members to provide information on non-medication treatment options to relieve Willis-Ekbom disease (restless legs syndrome) symptoms. Our chief criterion for product selection is that the product/device has been reviewed by the Food and Drug Administration in the U.S., or a similar agency in another country, and has been deemed safe."

Ten individuals with mild, moderate or severe WED/RLS symptoms tested this medical-grade light therapy system for an average of eight weeks. Six participants reported a lessening of WED/RLS symptoms and would recommend the product to others.  This efficacy rate of 60% is comparable to the efficacy rates of the predominant prescription drugs used to treat WED/RLS today.

"As an RLS sufferer, I've been using light therapy for almost 3 years," said Rich Hoopes, CEO of TranquilMed.  "Personally, I am so grateful to have an option as effective as drugs but without the side effects.  Our goal is to share it with as many people as possible to help them improve their quality of life."
