Vibrant Research Founder Dr. Pratheev Sreetharan Recipient of the TR35 Award from Technology Review Magazine
Date:9/10/2012

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Pratheev Sreetharan, the founder and CTO of Vibrant Research LLC, has been named a recipient of the prestigious TR35 Award, given each year to the top 35 innovators in the world under the age of 35 as determined by Technology Review Magazine, published by MIT.  Dr. Sreetharan received his PhD in Applied Physics from Harvard University and has been recognized for developing a novel, origami-inspired manufacturing process capable of making complex, miniature devices with unparalleled speed, accuracy and repeatability. This new way of manufacturing creates opportunities for reducing the size, weight and fabrication costs of a wide range of device components and devices, from mobile phones to medical devices to analytical instruments, and makes it possible to make new kinds of devices that could not be made economically using conventional fabrication methods.  In the words of Technology Review:  "Pratheev Sreetharan has found a way to build tiny machines and complex objects that were previously impossible to fabricate without assembling them manually… If Sreetharan is successful, he could open up the manufacturing no-man's-land between the micrometer-scale features of silicon chips and the centimeter-plus scale of everyday items."  Dr. Sreetharan and his work have also been featured in Business Week and on the Discovery Channel.
