Date:5/6/2011

PARIS, May 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) is spotlighting its TrueBeam™ STx with Novalis® Radiosurgery program for fast and precise stereotactic radiosurgery cancer treatments at the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS) congress in Paris next week. "There are hundreds of radiosurgery-enabled Varian linear accelerators installed around the world and Varian machines are carrying out more stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy treatments than those of any other manufacturer," he added.

"At many centers RapidArc has become the standard technique for SBRT treatments in lung, pancreatic, liver, kidney and other indications. TrueBeam STx with its high definition HD120™ MLC (multileaf collimator) allows the utilization of RapidArc with great precision."
