Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. Presents Scientific Posters at Society for Research on Biological Rhythms (SRBR) Annual Meeting

WASHINGTON, May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: VNDA), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of products for central nervous system disorders, announced today that the Company presented two posters at the Society for Research on Biological Rhythms (SRBR) annual meeting in Destin, Florida.

The first poster entitled Pleiomorphic Expression of Non-24-Hour Disorder in the Totally Blind, provides insight into the challenges faced by individuals suffering with this circadian rhythm disorder based on screening data collected during the Safety and Efficacy of Tasimelteon (SET) trial.  The second poster, Diurnal Oscillations of Plasma Metabolic Profiles From Individual Human Participants Under Usual Sleep-Wake Conditions, suggests a large number of metabolites have significant diurnal rhythms under usual sleep-wake and feeding conditions in healthy subjects.
