University HealthSystem Consortium Selects Centurion Service Group for Equipment and Asset Liquidation Services
Date:5/5/2010

OAK BROOK, Ill., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) today announced an agreement with Centurion Service Group, based in Melrose Park, Ill, for equipment and asset liquidation services. The contract was effective on February 1, 2010.

Centurion, the world's largest medical auction house with offices in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Berlin, assists UHC members in the setup and management of their surplus asset programs and provides transparency during the auction process. Centurion accepts all salable medical equipment, from operating room, laboratory, and radiology equipment to smaller, less valuable items. Portable equipment can be picked up, eliminating the need for health care facilities to store the equipment on site. In addition, Centurion's licensed appraisal team provides certified appraisals to support any need related to asset valuation.

Centurion sells assets through 2 auction models:

  • Live auction in Centurion's warehouses with an Internet simulcast
  • AuctionMart, for installed assets to be sold via timed online auctions

"Centurion looks forward to assisting university hospitals across the United States with their surplus assets so they can focus on delivering quality and innovative care for their patients," said Erik Tivin, chief executive officer of Centurion Service Group.

"UHC selected Centurion for its experience, professionalism, and leadership in this arena. We're pleased to offer our members assistance in
