Troy Healthcare, LLC Acquires Stopain® Brand; Unveils New Pain Relieving Gel Set to Hit Stores in Early 2011
Date:1/5/2011

HAZELTON, Pa., Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Troy Healthcare today announced that the company has purchased the Stopain® brand from former owners, DRJ Group Inc. Simultaneously, the company unveiled a new gel that is coming to stores in early 2011. Troy Healthcare is a subsidiary of Troy Manufacturing Inc., which has manufactured Stopain products since 2002.

"With eight years of manufacturing knowledge and experience with Stopain products, Troy Healthcare will utilize its proven expertise in research and development to take the Stopain product line to the next level," said Bob Miller, speaking on behalf of Troy Healthcare. "The release of Stopain gel substantiates the company's pledge to develop scientifically advanced products for healthy living."

Troy Healthcare Acquires Stopain Brand

Prior to its purchase of Stopain, Troy Healthcare, a subsidiary of Troy Manufacturing, had demonstrated its commitment to taking the Stopain brand to its highest potential. The establishment of Troy Healthcare created the unique opportunity for the company to have unprecedented control over its brand and products from conception to completion. Troy Manufacturing, a leader in the manufacture and development of topical analgesic products, has manufactured the Stopain brand of products since 2002.

New Stopain Gel Ready for Retail in 2011

Scheduled to hit store shelves and retail web sites in early 2011, new Stopain Pain Relieving Gel contains 38 percent more of the active ingredient menthol than any other product in the cooling gel category. Menthol is recognized by the Food and Drug Administration as an analgesic that provides temporary relief from minor pains and stiffness of arthritis, muscle aches, strains and back pain. New Stopain Gel offers an outstanding customer value with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $5.99.

The non-greasy, non-staining gel formula comes in a 2.5 ounce tube. The pleasantly scented gel uses a flip-top cap for easy opening. The new gel joins the brand's other topical pain relief products, including Stopain Spray and Stopain Roll-On, the top-selling spray and top-selling roll-on in the topical analgesics category.

Stopain can be purchased nationally in over 25,000 independent pharmacies and national chain drug stores, including Walgreens, Wal-Mart, CVS, Meijer and Rite-Aid Pharmacies, at various retailers' online sites and on the Stopain Web site.
