Triple W to be Featured at 9th Annual Japan - U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium
Date:7/17/2019

Triple W, an innovator of connected health devices, today announced that DFree®, the first wearable for urinary incontinence, will be highlighted at the Japan - U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium at Stanford University in Stanford, CA, on July 26, 2019. The Innovation Showcase recognizes startups with Japanese founders developing exciting technologies and highly innovative business ideas that have the potential for major worldwide impact. Triple W is one of five companies selected from a highly competitive field of candidates demonstrating outstanding promise and success in gaining international traction.

DFree uses ultrasound technology to monitor bladder fullness and notifies you on your smartphone or tablet when it’s time to go to the bathroom via the DFree companion app. DFree helps to prevent accidental urinary leaks. Seniors, people with disability and others who need to manage a loss of bladder control now have an alternative to disposable diapers or pads and medications with the DFree health wearable device. DFree stands for “diaper-free.” DFree is designed not only to help people with urinary incontinence improve their quality of life and enable independence, but also to help reduce the burden for the caregivers. According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, urinary incontinence affects 500 million people worldwide (including 25 million Americans).

“We’re honored to be recognized in the Innovation Showcase at the Japan - U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium,” said Atsushi Nakanishi, Founder and CEO for Triple W. “With DFree, people who need to manage a loss of bladder control can feel more confident by their ability to monitor how full their bladder is in real-time and plan bathroom breaks ahead of time. DFree helps them to live a more active lifestyle.”

The Symposium is organized by the Japan Society of Northern California in cooperation with the Stanford University U.S. - Asia Technology Management Center. The event recognizes Japanese creativity and American entrepreneurship. The 9th annual Japan - U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium will be held July 26, 2019 at the Stanford University Arrillaga Alumni Center, 326 Galvez St., from 1:30 - 6:30 p.m. For more info and registration see: http://www.usjinnovate.org
