Traitement du cancer primaire du foie : l'étude SARAH désormais accessible aux patients concernés sur l'ensemble du territoire français

Coordonnés au niveau national par le Professeur Valérie Vilgrain (Service de radiologie, Hôpital Beaujon, AP-HP) - investigateur principal de cette vaste étude, 19 centres de traitement (Angers, Bondy, Bordeaux, Caen, Clichy, Créteil, Dijon, Grenoble, Marseille, Montpellier, Nancy, Nantes, Nice, Paris, Poitiers, Saint Etienne, Strasbourg, Villejuif; cf. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01482442) participent déjà au recrutement, France entière, de 400 patients dont les critères d'inclusion sont les suivants :

  • Patients atteints d'un carcinome hépatocellulaire avancé avec ou sans envahissement de la veine porte ou patient en échec de chimioembolisation ou patient en récidive de carcinome hépatocellulaire
  • sans métastases extra hépatiques,
  • non éligibles à : 
         - la résection chirurgicale, 
         - la transplantation hépatique
         - ou l'ablation par radiofréquence
  • ou bien en récidive ou progression de carcinome hépatocellulaire après multiples traitements.[1]

A terme, une vingtaine de centres de traitement du cancer du foie, répartis sur l'ensemble du territoire, participera à l'étude SARAH.
