Thoratec Announces Presentations At Upcoming Investor Conferences

PLEASANTON, Calif., Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Thoratec Corporation (NASDAQ: THOR), a world leader in device-based mechanical circulatory support therapies to save, support and restore failing hearts, said today it will be participating in two upcoming investor conferences.

On Thursday, September 13, the company will participate in the ThinkEquity 9th Annual Growth Conference. Taylor C. Harris, Senior Director of Investor Relations and Business Development, will provide an update on the company beginning at 2:30 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time (11:30 a.m., Pacific Daylight Time). On Wednesday, September 19, Thoratec will participate in the UBS 2012 Global Life Sciences Conference. The presentation by Taylor C.
