The Villa Group Informs on Mexico Travel Plans in Wake of Swine Flu Outbreak

SAN DIEGO, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Villa Group is closely monitoring the recent swine flu outbreak in Mexico and has taken all appropriate steps to ensure the safety and health of all resort guests and employees. None of the Villa Group resort properties (located in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Nuevo Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit) are within close proximity to Mexico State where the outbreaks have occurred. No cases have been reported in any of the aforementioned destinations and The Villa Group is working closely with local authorities to take all necessary precautions to minimize exposure to the virus.

The Villa Group wishes to advise individuals with existing reservations who may be considering changes to their travel plans that they may do so without incurring any penalties from any of The Villa Group properties.

The Villa Group adheres to strict food handling and safety guidelines and will do everything required to ensure that the resort destinations remain unaffected. The reported influenza is taking place in Mexico City and has not spread to any of the resort destinations.

President Barack Obama said Monday the threat of spreading swine flu infections was a concern but "not a cause for alarm". Obama told a gathering of scientists that the Department of Health and Human Services "has declared a public health emergency as a precautionary tool" so that necessary resources are available as needed. Mexican authorities are working diligently with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to assure early detection and warning as well as a quick proactive response.
