The Harley Medical Group Sees an Uptake in Surgery Bookings for Christmas
Date:12/2/2010

LONDON, Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The Harley Medical Group is reporting a 35% surge in patients booking in for surgical procedures YOY as an early present for themselves, the month before Christmas.

Many patients are taking extended Christmas holidays to ensure a full recovery is made before they return to work in the New Year. The most popular surgical procedures for Christmas 2010 include: Breast enlargement, Nose Reshaping, and Liposuction.

Lisa Littlehales, Clinic Manager at The Harley Medical Group, said: "Surgery is a life changing decision that takes a lot of careful consideration, and financial investment. Many of our patients spend at least a year saving up, and often put Christmas work bonuses into the pot as well. In some cases patient's partners or family members also offer to contribute money towards surgery. Often they have been with them on their decision-making journey and understand how much surgery would mean to them."

Lisa continues: "Many of our patients say their confidence and self-esteem is much higher post-surgery and means they can start the New Year with a fresh new image."

Say's Natalie Price, 32, patient at The Harley Medical Group, "I wanted surgery on my breasts since I was 17. Having a completely 'ironing board' flat chest greatly affected my confidence, stopped me from going on beach holidays with friends and undressing in front of boyfriends. My mum and dad saw how upset my boyish figure made me but wanted to make sure surgery was the right option for me."

"Last year they inherited some money and kindly offered to pay for my surgery as a Christmas present. Since the operation I'm a completely different person and it's one present I will never forget."

All patients considering cosmetic surgery should ensure that their surgeon has completed his/her training, received his/her qualification as a Plastic Surgeon and is registered on the GMC Specialist Register as a Plastic Surgeon.  All consultations at The Harley Medical Group are carried out by a fully qualified Cosmetic Surgery Nurse Counsellor, followed shortly thereafter by a fully qualified and GMC registered Plastic Surgeon.  All operations are carried out, for your protection and safety, in Care Quality Commission Registered Independent Hospitals who specialise in Cosmetic Surgery. The Harley Medical Group has been established for over 27 years and has 30 clinics in the UK and the Republic Ireland.
