Talyst's CEO Joins Girl Scouts of Western Washington's Board of Directors

BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Carla Corkern, Talyst's Chief Executive Officer, has joined Girl Scouts of Western Washington's Board of Directors. The Girl Scouts are committed to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Previously, Corkern was a Girl Scout leader and currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the Seattle Girls School. She is a strong advocate of women working in technology.

"Girl Scouts of Western Washington is recognized as the best leadership development program for girls," said Catherine Gelband, Girl Scouts of Western Washington Board Chair. Corkern has over 20 years of experience in science and technology. She holds a B.S. in technical communication from Louisiana Tech University and has done graduate work at Southern Methodist University.
