Date:1/22/2008

New AcuCare Programs Automate the Interface between Health Assessments for

Patients and the Generation of Customized Care Treatment Plans

AUBURN, Calif., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- TCS Healthcare Technologies, an industry leader in the development of medical management software applications through acuity advanced care(TM) (ACUITY), announced today that it has released three new clinical content programs, referred to as the AcuCare Programs (AcuCare). The three new AcuCare Programs cover the following disease-specific areas:

-- Asthma;

-- Chronic Heart Failure (CHF); and

-- Diabetes.

Rob Pock, Chair and Founder of TCS Healthcare Technologies, states "the release of the three AcuCare Programs provide care managers and other health professionals with key management and benchmarking tools to take medical management interventions to the next level. Each AcuCare Program has been created based upon evidence-based practice standards and national guidelines that are dynamically linked to all of the other attributes found within ACUITY's medical management software application."

Each AcuCare Program offered by TCS contains:

-- Two Health Risk Assessments (initial and on-going);

-- A Leveling Assessment that combines the risks identified in the Initial

Assessment with the Case Management Adherence Guidelines(C) (CMAGs) to

place the participant in one of three levels;

-- 10 to 12 Structured Care Plans that dynamically generate goals, medical

management interventions, and outcomes based on risk factors identified

in the assessments;

-- 12 Educational Fact Sheets appropriate for sending to program

participants;

-- Eight Care Program Letters (for participants and physicians); and

-- Four Care Program Reports.

Jan Wierschke, Director of Health Management Services at Prairie States Enterprises, notes that "AcuCare is a great value when considering the comprehensiveness of each care program versus the cost that we would have to pay to develop them on our own." She adds further that "AcuCare Programs are a practical solution for our care managers. Prairie States Enterprises will take advantage of the underlying functionality of ACUITY which includes automatic triggers for follow-up actions and the integration of AcuCare with the CMAG assessment and reporting tool to help determine an individual's readiness for change."

In addition to the three new AcuCare Programs, the ACUITY system includes a similar General Health and Wellness Program as part of the core package. This Care Program can be used in conjunction with a disease-specific program or by itself to focus on goals related to caretaking, depression, diet and nutrition, fitness and exercise, knowledge and adherence, motivation, and smoking cessation.

"AcuCare Programs are a total package of pre-defined, ready-to-use clinical assessments, leveling tools, care plans, educational fact sheets, letters, and reports that allow users to efficiently identify and track everything that is going on with a person who is part of a case management, disease management, or prevention/wellness program," remarks Pat Stricker, RN, MEd, Vice President of Clinical Services at TCS Healthcare Technologies and who also headed up the team that developed AcuCare. She adds that "the launching of AcuCare within ACUITY undoubtedly will become a critical resource that nurses, physicians and others can use on a daily basis to effectively manage and help patients. In addition, AcuCare supports a myriad of quality- based initiatives such as NCQA and URAC accreditation standards, HEDIS measures, patient safety goals, and best practice programs."

Clinical research references are provided throughout the AcuCare Programs. AcuCare can be further customized to meet each organization, clinician or participant's unique needs. In addition the General Health and Wellness Program and CMAG application that are pre-installed in ACUITY, AcuCare Programs can be installed in minutes for anyone already using or planning to purchase ACUITY.
