Date:7/17/2013

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Suture Express, the nation's leading specialty distributor of suture, endomechanical and related surgical products, has appointed Ron Labrum as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. Labrum, a former senior executive at several large medical/surgical distribution and device manufacturing companies, brings extensive business experience to Suture Express.

"Ron Labrum has an incredible background in med/surg distribution and supply chain services," said Brian Forsythe, Suture Express President and CEO. "Ron's insight and ideas, particularly in the areas of strategy development and new business development, will be valuable assets for our organization and it is our pleasure to welcome him aboard."

Labrum's career spans three decades in various leadership roles – primarily chief executive positions – for such well-known companies as Cardinal Health, Fenwal, Inc., Allegiance Healthcare Corporation and Baxter Healthcare. Labrum says he accepted the Board appointment at Suture Express because he believes the company has a great, customer-focused business model.

"Suture Express delivers on its promises: next-day delivery across the biggest selection of specialty wound closure products available, with excellent customer service and transparent savings," explained Labrum. "That's the right approach for growth in today's complex med/surg supply industry, where healthcare providers face many challenges that make controlling costs and maximizing efficiency more important than ever. I'm pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to Suture Express' success."
