Sunovion and The Davis Phinney Foundation Present Innovation Event On Living Well With Parkinson’s

A free, interactive event highlighting innovations and ideas helping people with Parkinson’s live well will be held this month in Austin, Texas. The event, featuring thought leaders, innovators and health experts, will display innovations that could help people with Parkinson’s disease live better today.

Held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT on October 19 at the Coppertank Event Center in Austin, the event is co-hosted by the Davis Phinney Foundation and Sunovion. Innovations and technology have a major impact on people with Parkinson’s and can help people cope with issues around movement, eating, transportation, independence and even receiving critical care from specialists.

Little Big Things is a community with a mission to spark, share and celebrate the little innovations that could have a big impact on people living with Parkinson’s, created by Sunovion.

“There are so many amazing ideas, big and small, that can change how people live with Parkinson’s,” says Jenna Deidel, the Director of Programs & Outreach at the Davis Phinney Foundation. “Little Big Things is all about connecting the Parkinson’s community directly with the people working to solve problems and address issues our community faces through creative thinking, new technologies and advocacy.”

  • John Dean, Speech Language Pathologist and CEO of Triad Health, will talk about using smart speakers to create thoughtful exercise routines for Parkinson’s
  • Ray Dorsey, Movement Disorder Specialist at the University of Rochester Medical Center will talk about his work in making Parkinson’s care available to everyone everywhere
  • Tim Hague, an author and inspirational speaker will talk about his path with Parkinson’s and how it turned him into a community activist

In addition to hearing from these speakers, and others, guests of the event will also have a chance to meet with innovators in the Exhibit Hall who will present tools and technology available right now to help people live well with Parkinson’s today including SpeechVive, Calibrace+, Naboso Technology and many more.
The Davis Phinney Foundation?was founded by Olympic cyclist Davis Phinney in 2004 to help people with Parkinson’s live well today.
