Sucrets(R) ICE and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Challenge Kids to Keep the Environment Healthy this Cold Season
Date:10/26/2009

LANGHORNE, Pa., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- It's that time of year again. Kids are coming home from school with sore throats and runny noses. The cold season is upon us! But this year, Sucrets® ICE -- the unique, frozen single-use packages that offer cooling, soothing relief to both children's and adults' harshest sore throats -- and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment are making cold season "cool" with the "Save the Polar ICE Caps!" Challenge.

Sucrets ICE, with help from Scrat and the rest of the "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" characters, is asking kids to submit a drawing and brief message online at www.SucretsICEChallenge.com that illustrates what they would do to save the polar ice caps from the threat of global warming.

"From big ideas like solar-powered cars and windmills, to simple ideas like energy-saving light bulbs and reusable shopping bags, we want kids to use their imaginations while thinking through a real-world issue affecting them today and undoubtedly in the future," said Mike Tukdarian, president, Insight Pharmaceuticals, the makers of Sucrets ICE. "Participating in the 'Save the Polar ICE Caps!' Challenge is an opportunity for kids to learn more about the ways to slow down the environmental effects of global warming, and to win a chance to see these lessons come to life."

The grand prize winner will receive a visit to their classroom by an animator from Fox's Blue Sky Studios, who will create a still scene image of the winner's submission. In addition, the grand prize winner will receive an "Ice Age" DVD gift set from Fox, including the DVD release of each of the motion pictures "Ice Age", "Ice Age: The Meltdown", and "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs", and a Sucrets ICE family sample basket, including four packages of Sucrets ICE, two tins of Sucrets Herbal, two tins of Sucrets Complete, and two boxes of Sucrets Sore Throat. Four first prize winners will also receive the DVD gift set and a sample basket.

"We are thrilled to be able to be partnering with Sucrets during this cold and flu season," said Joe Ames, executive director of Global Marketing Partnerships for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. "By developing a great co-branded campaign with Sid, Manny, Scrat, and so many other favorite characters from 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs', and creating a fun and educational in-school program, we know we have a campaign that will resonate with consumers young and old. It's another great example of how entertainment marketing can really make a brand stand out in a cluttered retail and advertising marketplace."

Contest entries will be displayed at www.SucretsICEChallenge.com, where five finalists will be chosen via public vote to take place in early 2010. The grand prize winner will be chosen by a panel of four judges. The panel will consist of Tukdarian; Eric Massa, New York State Congressman; Paul Margeson, category manager of OTC Healthcare for Rite Aid Corporation; and Joseph Perna, director of school operations and student activities at Benjamin Franklin Charter Public School in Massachusetts.

The contest is open to legal U.S. residents between the ages of six and 13 at the time of entry. A parent or legal guardian must provide permission before entering the contest. For more information and official contest rules, visit www.SucretsICEChallenge.com.
