Streamline Health Announces Two Clients Have Contracted for Multiple Integrations to Their Epic Systems
Date:7/28/2011

CINCINNATI, July 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: STRM), a market leading provider of document workflow solutions for hospitals, announced today that two of its clients, Texas Health Resources and a major health system in North Carolina, contracted with Streamline Health to implement new connections to their Epic software. Texas Health Resources, which began the beta phase of integration earlier this year, plans to go live in third quarter 2011 with links to HIM Deficiency Management, followed by the EpicWeb/EpicCare Link portals at a later date. The North Carolina health system, which has licensed the full suite of six functionality integrations, began installation and testing of three in July 2011 - patient registration, billing, and release of information.

Streamline Health's accessANYware® product has used HL7 to connect with EpicCare since 2007. The five new integration offerings use a combination of API and HL7 approaches to allow for an even more robust and seamless user experience. They include:

  • The viewing of documents with secure connectivity, eliminating the need for documents to reside on the local workstation

  • Document viewing with Streamline Health's STRM-IT® product

  • A plug-in created by Streamline Health that will return documents to Epic where they are combined to produce a single print stream

  • Allowing users to click an action within the EMR to scan the necessary documents at the appropriate time so once the documents are indexed they are returned and made immediately available to all systems to which Streamline Health is integrated

  • Scanning and importing of documents for storage in non patient-centric custom folders and links either automatically or manually established for integrated, one-click access
