Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy Offers FREE Diabetic Medications

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the American Diabetes Association, total costs of diagnosed diabetes in the United States in 2007 were estimated at $174 billion.  Millions of Americans have been diagnosed with type II diabetes and many more are unaware that they are at risk or in fact living with the disease.  Individuals with type II diabetes use pills to manage their diabetes and these medications can be costly.  Beginning in November, National Diabetes Awareness Month, Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacies will offer the following diabetes medications for FREE:

  • Metformin
  • Metformin ER
  • Glimepride
  • Glipizide
  • Glipizide XL
  • Glyburide
  • Glyburide Micro

  • The medication, in varying strengths and up to 100 pills, will be offered for FREE beginning November 1st.  To participate in this program, customers must have a valid prescription from their doctor.  All transferred and authorized refills are included as prescribed by a physician.  No membership or other type of commitment is required.

    Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy is committed to offering healthy living programs for its customers, such as a Free Antibiotic Program that offers a 14-day supply of selected antibiotics, including refills, at no charge to anyone with or without health insurance coverage who presents a prescription.  Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy has also introduced a $4 Generic Prescription Program.  Over 300 commonly prescribed medications are $4 for a 30-day supply or $10 for a 90-day supply.
