Stater Bros. Introduces Free Personal Vitamin Recommendation Program
Date:1/25/2011

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Most people know that they should take vitamins but most do not know why they should take them or which vitamins they actually need.  To ensure that its valued customers are getting the vitamins they need, the Stater Bros. website (www.staterbros.com) can guide customers through a free 5-minute personal health survey.  The recommendations from this survey will determine which vitamin supplements are best for each person's individual lifestyle and personal needs.

As an added convenience, at any one of the 27 Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy locations, customers can take the 5-minute personal health survey with the help of a Stater Bros. Pharmacist, who will then be able to further discuss the recommendations and help find the best vitamins for their individual needs.  For the location of the nearest Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy, call toll free 1-877-232-9300 or visit www.staterbros.com.

The recommendations used in this personal health survey have been approved by health professionals at the University of Illinois and are based on a conservative subset of 25 clinically supportive and science-based supplements.  Stater Bros. has established this program together with Top Care® brand vitamins and supplements.  Top Care® products feature the same active ingredients as national brands, cost up to 50% less and are guaranteed to work just as well.

"Stater Bros. remains committed to its valued customers," stated Jack H. Brown, Stater Bros. Chairman and CEO.  "We are proud to offer this innovative program free of charge to promote the health and well-being of our valued customers and are pleased to be able to provide our valued customers with access to high quality, affordable pharmacy services."

Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy is committed to offering healthy living programs for its customers, such as a Free Antibiotic Program that offers a 14-day supply of selected antibiotics, including refills, at no charge to anyone with or without health insurance coverage who presents a prescription.  Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy most recently introduced its Free Diabetic Medication Program which includes up to 100 pills in varying strengths to customers with a valid prescription from their doctor.  In addition, Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy is pleased to continue its $4 Generic Prescription Program.  Over 300 commonly prescribed medications are $4 for a 30-day supply or $10 for a 90-day supply.

Stater Bros. was founded in 1936 in Yucaipa, California, and has grown steadily through the years to become the largest privately owned Supermarket Chain in Southern California and the largest private employer in both San Bernardino County and Riverside County, with annual sales in 2010 of $3.6 billion.  The Company currently operates 167 Supermarkets, and there are over 18,000 members of the Stater Bros.
