Sleeping Bags Specialist Stocks New Care Plus Tick Test

LONDON, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- (RPRN) -- Leading UK sleeping bags and outdoor specialists Packyourbags Travel Store increases its health care product range to include the new Care Plus Tick Test.

Until recently Packyourbags Travel Store only sold Care Plus's Tick-Out Tick remover; a tool that allows the careful removal of ticks. However it now stocks the newly launched Care Plus Tick Test Lyme Borreliose. This enables those who have been bitten and removed a tick, to test it to see whether it is carrying any harmful bacteria such as Borreliose bacteria.

Whilst there are several diseases which can be caught from ticks, one that is becoming more widespread in Europe is Lyme disease, which is caused by ticks carrying Borreliose bacteria.

If a test shows positive, then individuals are able to take immediate action and visit their doctor to get prescribed the correct antibiotic treatment. Previously those infected would only be able to take action once a red ring (Erythema migrans) appears which is too late as the infection is already chronic.
