Simcere Pharmaceutical Group Provides Notice of Annual General Meeting

NANJING, China, May 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Simcere Pharmaceutical Group (NYSE: SCR) ("Simcere" or the "Company"), a leading pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of branded and proprietary pharmaceuticals in China, today announced that the annual general meeting of shareholders (the "Meeting") will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10 a.m. Beijing time. The meeting will be held at No.699-18, Xuanwu Avenue, Xuanwu District, Nanjing, the People's Republic of China.

The meeting's main purposes are:

  1. To receive a report on the Company's operations.
  2. To transact any other business properly brought before the Meeting.

All shareholders of record at the close of business on May 11, 2012 will be entitled to attend and vote at the Meeting, and at any adjournment or postponement thereof, or to appoint a proxy to attend and vote in his/her place. The proxy need not be a shareholder of the Company.
