Sigma-Aldrich Unveils Dynamic New Web Presence
Date:3/29/2011

ST. LOUIS, March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sigma-Aldrich Corporation (Nasdaq: SIAL) announced the release of the first phase of its new website, www.sigma-aldrich.com. The new site has been redesigned to support and enhance scientific workflow in an effort to help researchers more easily find the information, tools, products and services they need to accelerate research and discovery. The Company plans to continue to roll out innovative upgrades to the site over the next twelve months.

Based on input from hundreds of customer interviews, the new design is expected to strengthen the already powerful connection between Sigma-Aldrich and the research and manufacturing communities. By incorporating numerous user-requested features and cutting-edge usability techniques, visitors to the site will find quick availability and easy access to Sigma-Aldrich's industry-leading search tools, including Structure Search and Your Favorite Gene, as well as access to rich technical data, the latest relevant research developments, and information about Sigma-Aldrich products and services.

"First announced to the investment and customer communities as part of Sigma-Aldrich's Strategic Plan, our enhanced web presence focuses on customer requirements and their need for better, faster scientific results," said Rakesh Sachdev, Sigma-Aldrich President and CEO. "We expect these enhancements to accelerate the already extensive use of our website for research and for the convenient purchase of scientific products. In 2010, our online sales accounted for nearly one-half our Company's research product revenue."

Amanda Halford, Vice President eBusiness at Sigma-Aldrich said, "Sigma-Aldrich is proud to serve as a Company of scientists helping fellow scientists. Our new website provides researchers across multiple disciplines with the information and tools they require to select the best products for their experiments. The internet is a major component in scientists' daily professional lives. We expect that the cutting-edge evolution of our website will continue to make the Sigma-Aldrich site one they will want to visit again and again."
