Siemens Showcases Broad Array of Innovative Diagnostic Solutions at 2010 AACC and ASCLS Annual Meetings and Clinical Lab Expo

CLINITEK Status® Connect System — This point-of-care instrument, in conjunction with the Multistix® family of urinalysis test strips, provides flexible connectivity, data integration and operational control to reduce risk in POC testing environments.

IMMULITE® 2000 XPi Immunoassay System — Offering enhanced hardware and software features, this system combines proven reliability with the largest automated immunoassay menu available in the industry. (Not available for sale in the U.S.)

Sysmex® CS-2000i / CS-2100 Automated Blood Coagulation Analyzer — This coagulation analyzer automatically performs pre-analytical sample quality checks helping labs deliver high quality results on the first test run. (Not available for sale in the U.S.)

Dimension Vista® 1500 System and ADVIA® Automation — The ADVIA®  LabCell® and WorkCell® automation systems can now be connected to the Dimension Vista® 1500 Intelligent Laboratory System combining the benefit of an integrated chemistry and immunoassay system with the productivity and capacity of a high-volume automation system.

ADVIA® Automation Centrifuge Module — Designed for peak performance with its 72-tube capacity, this enhanced centrifuge processes up to 300 patient samples per hour.

New Assays

Analyte Specific Reagent (ASR) Allergens — Forty (40) newly FDA-cleared ASR allergens have been added to the IMMULITE® test menu.  

Fully Automated Immunosuppressive Drug (ISD) Panel — Available on Dimension Integrated Chemistry Systems, this full menu of ISD tests now includes Cyclosporine, Cyclosporine Extended Range, Tacrolimus and Sirolimus assays.

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) Immunoassay — The fully automated MPO assay on the Dimension System predicts a patient's risk of major adverse cardiac events during assessment of acute coronary syndrome, such as myocardial infarction or need for revascularization.

New Hepatitis Assays — A fully automated hepatitis panel is available on the ADVIA Centaur® CP System, including HBeAb and HBeAg. (Not available for sale in the U.S.) Its automated HBsAg confirmatory testing saves time and reduces risk of transcription errors.

Procalcitonin Testing — This new fully automated chemiluminescent immunoassay is now available on the ADVIA Centaur CP System. (Not available for sale in the U.S.)

Syphilis Screen — Available on the IMMULITE® System, this fully automated assay qualitatively detects antibodies to Treponema Pallidum, eliminating the risk of manual transcription errors associated with traditional syphilis testing.
