Shield HealthCare Announces Caregiver Story Contest Winners

VALENCIA, Calif., Jan. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Shield HealthCare, a leading provider of medical supplies for care at home, is pleased to announce its 11th annual "What Makes Caregiving Rewarding" story contest winners. Congratulations to the grand prize winners: LaNedra M. of Cerritos, CA, Howard R. of Boulder, CO, Matt G. of Olympia, WA, and the 5 runners-up, Vivian B. of Temecula, CA, Anita C. of Midland, TX, Mary B. of Ypsilanti, MI, Tiffany H. of Monroe, WA and Jorge B. of Northridge, CA. Out of a record 580 stories received, the top winners were selected by celebrity contest judge, Sandra Mitchell, CBS 2/KCAL 9 News Anchor.


The top three story winners received $1,000 in American Express Gift Checks and a 1-year subscription to Today's Caregiver Magazine.  The five runners-up received $250 in American Express Gift Checks and the magazine subscription. Shield HealthCare's "What Makes Caregiving Rewarding" story contest is designed to recognize and hear the voice of caregivers and home healthcare professionals. Shield HealthCare understands that caregiving is a demanding job.  A significant number of Shield HealthCare's customers are at-home family caregivers, tending to a loved one with a chronic medical condition. They unselfishly take on the challenge and responsibility of meeting the daily health and emotional needs of the person in their charge. The caregiver story contest is a positive way to recognize and reward this important role.
