The top three story winners received $1,000 in American Express Gift Checks and a 1-year subscription to Today's Caregiver Magazine.  The five runners-up received $250 in American Express Gift Checks and the magazine subscription. Shield HealthCare's "What Makes Caregiving Rewarding" story contest is designed to recognize and hear the voice of caregivers and home healthcare professionals. Shield HealthCare understands that caregiving is a demanding job.  A significant number of Shield HealthCare's customers are at-home family caregivers, tending to a loved one with a chronic medical condition. They unselfishly take on the challenge and responsibility of meeting the daily health and emotional needs of the person in their charge. The caregiver story contest is a positive way to recognize and reward this important role.

The winning caregiver stories are posted on Shield HealthCare's website at http://www.shieldhealthcare.com/caring. You can also visit Shield HealthCare on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/shieldhealthcare or follow us on Twitter @shieldhealth.

Shield HealthCare also announces the first annual Readers' Choice Contest. With the record breaking 580 stories, there were just too many good stories. We want to share more of them. From January 3 to January 31, 2012, you can VOTE for one of your favorite Readers' Choice stories on our website at: www.shieldhealthcare.com/readerschoice.  Official rules of this contest can be found online.
