Sheba Medical Center Doctors Dominate Forbes Israel’s Annual “Best Doctors in Israel” Edition
Date:5/14/2019

Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer is pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, the hospital featured the most doctors on the Forbes Israel annual “Best Doctors in Israel” list. Of the 1,108 doctors on the list, 187 of them work at Sheba.

This accolade comes on the heels of the Newsweek recognizing Sheba as one of the 10 Best Hospitals in the World.

Forbes Israel compiled its list based on surveys completed by medical professionals across Israel and highlights doctors from nearly two dozen major hospitals in addition to other Israeli medical facilities. Within the 33 medical specialty categories that were surveyed, doctors from Sheba ranked #1 in 11 of these fields, including Internal Medicine, Fertility & Births, Gynecology, Heart Surgery (Chest), Genetics, ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat), Skin, Endocrinology, Cardiology and Rehabilitation.

To underscore Sheba’s medical prowess, Dr. Avraham Avigdor, the head of the hospital's Hematology Institute, was featured on the cover of the magazine alongside a colleague from a nearby hospital in Tel Aviv.

"We are incredibly proud to feature so many of Sheba's top doctors in this prestigious magazine,” said Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center. “Never resting on our laurels, our doctors strive to provide first-rate medical care via their innovative methods to patients from across the entire spectrum of Israeli society and around the globe 24/7, 365 days a year."

As the largest and most comprehensive medical center in the Middle East, Sheba Medical Center’s 200-acre campus is home to most of Israel’s national and leading health institutes. With nearly 2,000 doctors and 9,100 healthcare professionals on staff, Sheba performs over 50,000 surgeries a year and partakes in 3,330 clinical trials on an annual basis.
