Shattuck, Online Medical Equipment Auction Firm, Inks Multi-Year Deal With GPO, FirstChoice Cooperative

AUSTIN, Tex, Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Shattuck Inc., the leading online medical equipment auction firm based in Texas, has entered into a, 3-year Group Purchasing Organization ("GPO") Agreement with FirstChoice ("FCC"), headquartered in Tyler, Texas.

This partnership immediately impacts all FCC members by allowing them to access Shattuck's fully scalable online auction services, including their e-Surplus asset management compliance tool, with First Choice Cooperative's guaranteed single tier pricing.

"We are excited that Shattuck's asset management and online auction services have been added to the FirstChoice portfolio," said Brett Neal, Auctioneer and Accounts Manager of Shattuck Inc. "We appreciate the high degree of contract compliance they inspire among the members of their cooperative. Shattuck also shares FCC's commitment to cost containment, as well as creating greater revenue streams for their membership."

Shattuck's e-Surplus feature is designed to eliminate unnecessary expenditures, satisfy all compliance requirements and streamline the asset disposition process. Using e-Surplusallows participating members to post idle equipment for reallocation to all departments within their respective systems or facilities. Then Shattuck's online auction site lets members leverage the power of the marketplace to redeem the maximum value for all their unclaimed surplus healthcare assets.

Established in 1987 and based in Austin, Texas, Shattuck Inc. is the sole provider of online auction services to members of University of Texas system, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and many other healthcare facilities throughout Texas. This marks Shattuck's second major new alliance of 2011. In addition to the FirstChoice agreement, Shattuck Inc. took over the surplus asset disposition of Texas Health Resources, a network of 25 hospitals based in Arlington, Texas.

FirstChoice Cooperative  has more than 400 participating member Hospitals, Clinics and Acute care facilities nationwide, with the largest percentage located in the Southwest region.
