Sensortech Announces New, Ligament Balancing TKA Smart Insert
Date:2/6/2013

PENDLETON, S.C., Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sensortech Corporation announced advancement of their new, orthopedic knee alignment product, the Force Check Knee Replacement Smart Insert designed for improving total knee arthroplasty (TKA) surgeries.

Incorporating FDA-approved Bluetooth 4 low energy technology, and FDA-approved plastics technology, the Force Check Knee Replacement Smart Insert can readily adapt to all TKA replacement components on the market. The insert will increase TKA profitability through reduced operating and patient recovery times, faster healing times, reduced component wear, superior pain management and fewer revisions.

With FDA approval, Sensortech's technology could also become a "leave in" device, measuring TKA component performance throughout the replacement's operational life.

"The new Smart Insert is a patented, superior solution. It provides real time condyle contact pressure (force) as well as contact location and contact patch movement tracking throughout the flexion test—something unique to the market today. We know the demand for this device is there.  Surgeons and medical device manufacturers have been telling us they need our insert," said inventor Dr. Andrew Clark .

To exploit the market value of this device and assist in acquiring a 510K to develop the "leave in" solution, Sensortech is seeking acquisition partner(s).  The company has also positioned their Force Check Knee Replacement Smart Insert device as an initial entry into a line of medical device smart inserts for all types of joint replacement surgeries.  For more information about Sensortech go to www.sensortechknee.com or contact Sensor Tech Corporation at info@sensortechcorp.com, (864) 298-0684.
