Sensitech Inc. Introduces Temperature and Humidity Monitor for Flammable and Hazardous Environments
Date:9/27/2011

BEVERLY, Mass., Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sensitech Inc., the global leader in cold-chain visibility solutions, introduces the TempTale®4 Intrinsically Safe monitor, its first temperature and humidity monitor specifically designed to safely and accurately monitor the environmental conditions of industrial, chemical and military environments that contain atmospheric explosive and flammable elements.  The introduction of the TempTale®4 Intrinsically Safe monitor further complements Sensitech's robust portfolio of temperature and humidity monitors and meets a growing need for monitoring applications in the industrial market. Sensitech Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Carrier Corp., the world's leader in high technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions and a business unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The TempTale®4 Intrinsically Safe monitor is certified for use by United Laboratories Inc. (UL) in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia, and can be used in a variety of applications, including monitoring ammunition rooms, oil and gas processing, laboratories, paint shop humidity monitoring, pharmaceutical storage and heating ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems monitoring.  It has a UL Intrinsic Safety rating, validating that it has been lab-tested to prevent a spark or thermal effect that could potentially cause ignition from occurring in explosive atmospheres where combustible gas and/or dust could be present.

"Providing our industrial customers with the ability to safely and accurately monitor time- and temperature-sensitive materials stored or transported in hazardous environments helps them have the right product in the right place, at the right time, in the right condition," said Al DeLeo, senior product manager, Sensitech.
