Ron Peele Named President of STB Lifesaving Technologies(R)
Date:2/2/2010

ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- STB Lifesaving Technologies® announced today the hiring of Ron Peele as President, to lead its transition from an R&D stage initiative, to a commercial business.  Mr. Peele has spent the past 25 years building companies as both an investor and operating executive.  He joins STB® from Revolution Health, where he was a founding investor and CFO, working closely with Steve Case from its inception to merger with Everyday Health, where it's now the largest online health company.  Prior to that, Mr. Peele helped launch and build the AOL/Time Warner venture capital group, making strategic investments in some of the industry's most successful start-up companies.

STB®, which stands for "stop the bleeding," is developing a suite of products to control serious and life-threatening hemorrhage. Successful animal studies with both military and commercial partners, and published data from the American Red Cross, have demonstrated STB®'s flagship product, the Fibrin Adhesive STat or FAST® dressing, to be functionally superior.

"At the core of STB® is our collective mission to prevent deaths from bleeding, and the latest data on our flagship product is compelling and promising," said Peele.  "I've helped build many companies over the years, but this is my first opportunity to build something that can actually save people's lives.

"I had been working in an advisory role with founding investors Richard Moscarello and Jody Bellar, and the inventor of the technology, Dr. Martin MacPhee. During that time together we realized we all share the same vision for STB®.  Now Martin and his team of scientists can focus exclusively on the clinical and product development, while we focus on building strategic relationships and expanding resources to enable us to bring this product to patients who need it."
