Richard Wolf endoscopes have transformed treatment options by allowing doctors to visualize and access elusive sites of disease or injury with fewer complications. Its spine endoscopes have transformed treatment of chronic back pain.

"The Richard Wolf Endoscopic Spine system is the most versatile and advanced system in the world because the engineering team incorporated designs from the undisputed leaders of endoscopic surgery in the U.S. and Europe," says Dr. Anthony Yeung, internationally renowned spine surgeon. "The system features the most advanced inside-out transforaminal endoscopes and complementary instrumentation, making it the least invasive system available."

Richard Wolf also offers the only articulating burr on the market and expects to roll out its latest innovation in spine instrumentation later this year.

"Thousands of patients with sciatica and chronic back pain are receiving dramatic and immediate relief with endoscopic spine surgery, all through an incision less than half an inch long," says Dr. Thomas Kienzle, Senior Product Manager, Spine Endoscopy, at Richard Wolf. "Spine endoscopy is still in its infancy, and we're leading the way."

Richard Wolf opened its first U.S. subsidiary in Rosemont, Illinois, in 1972. Today, its Vernon Hills headquarters employs 186 and is home to the Prima Vista Richard Wolf Academy, a state-of-the-art education and training center for physicians and surgeons that includes a wet lab and A/V for surgical demonstrations.

Endoscopes play a vital role in modern medical technology. "The goal is less pain and reduced recovery periods for patients," said Monica Sanders, Corporate Director of Marketing at Richard Wolf. "We've always put patients' interests first."

Richard Wolf also designs endoscopic instruments and accessories for gynecology, urology, arthroscopy, general surgery, ENT, TEM, reprocessing and HD video. The company is the only one to develop industrial borescope kits used in on-wing repairs on aircraft. In 2010, Richard Wolf introduced Acoustic Compression Therapy, or sound wave therapy, in the U.S. with its WellWave device, which targets chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Richard Wolf has subsidiaries in the UK, France, Austria, Belgium, India and the United Arab Emirates. Media contact: Julia Filipski | jfilipski@richardwolfusa.com | 847-955-8084 | www.richardwolfusa.com.
