Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York Collaborates with EMD Serono to Offer Treatment Assistance to Eligible Veterans and their Spouses

NEW YORK, July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York (RMA of New York), a nationally and internationally-recognized leader in providing exceptional quality and personalized care for patients requiring reproductive assistance, is pleased to announce a new collaboration with EMD Serono and their Compassionate Corps and Compassionate Care Programs to recognize the sacrifices made by veterans and their families for our country.

The Compassionate Corps Program will allow qualifying veterans and the spouses of veterans to access fertility medicine at no cost if they lack insurance and suffered service-related injuries causing their infertility.  In partnering with EMD Serono and the Compassionate Corps Program, RMA of New York is proud to be able to help alleviate some of the financial barriers that veterans and their families face when trying to conceive.

To be determined eligible for the Compassionate Corps Program, patients must be retired veterans or spouses of veterans with infertility issues caused by injuries sustained while on active duty. It will also be required that veterans undergo screening in order to receive a diagnosis of infertility as well as a recommendation that in vitro fertilization or another form of advanced reproductive technology is needed for the veteran or the veteran's spouse to become pregnant.  Under the Compassionate Corps Program, patients are allowed up to 2 cycles of fertility medication annually, and must reapply each year.

For military veterans and their spouses who do not meet the eligibility requirements for the Compassionate Corps Program, the Compassionate Care Program offers 25% off the self-pay price of EMD Serono medications, and can be as high as 75% off dependent upon income level. Dr. Alan Copperman, a Founding Partner at RMA of New York added, "It is a privilege to partner with EMD Serono and to honor members of our armed services by assisting in their efforts to build families."

Veterans and military families interested in learning more about what RMA of NY can offer them in partnership with EMD Serono and the Compassionate Corps Program can find more information at, which offers an extensive overview of the process. RMA of New York is proud to participate in the Active Duty Military and Veterans Discount Program for patients who are currently serving in our armed forces or have previously served in our military.  The program offers a 25% discount off of all Assisted Reproductive Technology treatments for those eligible.
