c medications, which increased the efficiency of pharmacy and nursing staff. Nursing and pharmacy are now more in concert. Improvements in patient safety have been realized through automated processes for transferred patient's medications, discontinued medications and discharged patient's medication. In addition, satisfaction surveys indicated that nursing staff felt that missing medications were less of a problem post SinglePointe implementation.

"It is gratifying to see that the SinglePointe solution significantly improved pharmacy staff efficiencies in medication management as evidenced by the data provided by Rice Memorial Hospital," added Richard Caldwell, Sr. Product Manager, Medication Systems Omnicell, Inc. "Most importantly, patient safety is also shown to be a clear benefit of the SinglePointe patient-specific medication management solution."

The presentation of the results of the pre- and post SinglePointe installation study will be repeated by Carnie Allex, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy at Rice Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, April 22, 5:30 p.m. CT at The Mid-America Club in Chicago.
