QIAGEN und AstraZeneca entwickeln Begleittest auf Basis von Flüssigbiopsien zur erweiterten Bestimmung von EGFR-Mutationen bei Lungenkrebspatienten

  • Ziel der Zusammenarbeit sind Entwicklung und Kommerzialisierung eines Begleitdiagnostikums, das auf Basis genomischer Daten aus Plasmaproben zur Steuerung von Therapien mit IRESSA bei Patienten mit nicht-kleinzelligem Lungenkrebs eingesetzt werden kann 
  • Neuer Bluttest basiert auf QIAGENs von der FDA zugelassenem therascreen  EGFR Kit und soll auf Rotor-Gene Q, einer Automationsplattform der QIAsymphony-Produktfamilie, laufen 
  • Das durch einen Rahmenvertrag mit AstraZeneca möglich gewordene Projekt erweitert QIAGENs wachsendes Portfolio an Lösungen für Flüssigbiopsien, die gewebebasierte Testverfahren ergänzen 

QIAGEN (NASDAQ: QGEN; Frankfurt, Prime Standard: QIA) gab heute einen Kooperationsvertrag mit AstraZeneca PLC (LSE, NYSE und OMX: AZN) bekannt. Ziel dieser Zusammenarbeit ist die gemeinsame Entwicklung und Kommerzialisierung eines therapiebegleitenden Diagnostikums auf Basis flüssiger Biopsien, das in Verbindung mit IRESSA, AstraZenecas gezielter Therapie zur Behandlung von nicht-kleinzelligem Lungenkrebs (NSCLC), eingesetzt werden soll. Das Projekt basiert auf einem von beiden Unternehmen im Jahr 2013 unterzeichneten Rahmenvertrag und zielt auf die Entwicklung und Vermarktung eines neuartigen Begleitdiagnostikums von QIAGEN ab, das den EGFR-Mutationsstatus von NSCLC-Patienten durch die Analyse von Plasmaproben ermittelt. Der Test wird zur Steuerung von Krebsbehandlungen mit AstraZenecas oraler Monotherapie für Patienten entwickelt, denen kein Tumorgewebe entnommen werden kann.
