ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Therapeutics (Prime), a thought leader in pharmacy benefit management, announced today that its mail-service pharmacy, PrimeMail®, has received full accreditation from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. Prime received its first mail-service pharmacy accreditation on January 1, 2009, and now remains accredited through January 1, 2016.

URAC offers the only third-party, voluntary accreditation program of this scope for pharmacy benefit management and prescription services industry. All standards are developed with input from URAC's Pharmacy Advisory Committee, which includes a wide range of stakeholders: employers, consumers, pharmacy consultants, health plans, retail pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management organizations, pharmacy professional organizations, labor and large public purchasing groups.
URAC's mail-service pharmacy standards address a range of industry practices including: organizational quality, customer service, communications, disclosure, mail drug management and pharmacy operations.
