PipelineRX Announces Two Contracts with Recently Launched Telepharmacy SaaS Solution

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PipelineRX, a leading medication management services company focused on clinical telepharmacy, is expanding its business beyond its industry leading remote telepharmacy solutions and adding a critical Healthcare Information Technology component, a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. PipelineRX has announced the launch of PipelineRX SaaS Community-Version, with two beta customer agreements signed.

PipelineRX SaaS Community-Version provides small and critical access hospitals with an extremely cost-effective remote based platform to aggregate all medication orders into a single repository regardless of the method of order placement.  This web enabled technology is making it easier for hospital pharmacies to manage the processing of all faxed, scanned, as well as electronically (CPOE) generated medication orders.  Management and clinical workflow of all orders is also made easier by dashboard tools optimized for mobile devices that allow for remote access to all outstanding orders as well as a robust integrated reporting engine.  In addition to being hosted in a private cloud environment (i.e. no client hardware requirements), having such features as STAT order prioritization, location specific based queue capability, and the ability to automatically split multi-page faxed orders, enables Hospitals to utilize PipelineRX's new system to become a cost-effective replacement of older legacy queuing systems.

Brian Roberts, PipelineRX's President, notes that clients increasingly face complex labor and workflow challenges within the pharmacy and are looking for technology empowered solutions that streamline workflow, improve efficiency, and reduce operating costs.  "PipelineRX's time tested technology supporting our telepharmacy business has been developed over four years and has processed nearly 3 million medication orders – it is time now to share that technology with our clients.  This solution allows for a seamless hosted safety solution that starts at the physician order and ends with the dispensing of the medication."  Pipeline's proprietary HIPAA-compliant technology was designed for Pharmacists by Pharmacists to ensure the highest quality of standards, optimal workflow and relevant management reports.

Chuck Dunlap, National Sales Director at PipelineRX, is thrilled about the opportunity this technology represents; "We now have a system that we can install in less than 60 days and help hospitals ensure no medication orders are missed.  The surge in CPOE adoption has impacted the number of handwritten orders that are done today, but with both CPOE orders and handwritten orders being submitted at hospitals, this solution is critical.  PipelineRX SaaS Community-Version provides our customers with the most cost effective solution today."
