Pinnacle Biologics beantragt Zulassung neuer Indikationen in Deutschland und Frankreich

Krebszellen. Die Tumorzerstörung resultiert aus biochemischen Reaktionen und nicht aufgrund von Hitze. Die Selektivität für Tumorgewebe entsteht durch eine Kombination aus bevorzugter Speicherung von PHOTOFRIN durch das Tumorgewebe und selektiver Anwendung von Licht auf die Tumorstelle.

Kürzlich genehmigte Indikationen für PHOTOFRIN in Frankreich umfassen die Behandlung von wiederauftretenden, nicht-kleinzelligen Bronchialkrebsformen oder Speiseröhrenkrebs, die vormals lokoregional behandelt wurden. In Deutschland beziehen sich genehmigte Indikationen mit PHOTOFRIN auf Heilbehandlungen von Patienten mit histologisch nachgewiesenen, nicht-kleinzelligen endobronchialen Frühkarzinomen (Stadium T ist NO MO oder T1 NO MO), die laut Einschätzung des verantwortlichen Arztes nicht durch Operation oder Strahlentherapie kurativ behandelt werden können.
