Pharmacy Choice and Access Now Coalition Urges Passage of Senate Bill 7 During Texas Legislature's Special Session

on of obtaining medications directly from their community-based pharmacist rather than a mail order service.  We, of course, after SB 7 becomes law, commit to continuing to work with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to ensure that implementation of SB 7 is done in a manner that maximizes pharmacy protections for consumers and community-based pharmacies across the state."

The pharmacy and patient protection amendments contained in SB 7 will help to ensure that community-based pharmacies throughout Texas are afforded the protections that they, their patients and Texas taxpayers both need and deserve.  While PCAN believes SB 7's pharmacy and patient protection amendments are a step in the right direction, PCAN will continue to work to ensure additional safeguards are enacted during the remaining days of the special session and the administrative processes that will follow enactment of the legislation.  PCAN urges prompt passage during the special session.
