PORTLAND, Ore., April 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pharmacy Benefits Academy (PBA) West will be held May 13-14, 2013 at The Governor Hotel in Portland.  The program provides human resource, benefits and managed care professionals, union trustees and other health care stakeholders, with the information and tools needed to better manage pharmacy costs and related benefits, and improve the health outcomes of their covered populations using these benefits. PBA West expands the reach of the Pharmacy Benefits Academy Central, with the conference being held for the first time in Oregon.

The educational meeting is co-hosted by the Oregon Coalition of Health Care Purchasers (OCHCP), Midwest Business Group on Health (MBGH) and Pharmacy Outcomes Specialists.

Registration information and an agenda can be found at www.pharmacybenefitsacademy.com. Pharmacy Benefits Academy Central will be held August 13-14, 2013 at the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont, Illinois.

"PBA Central was attended by Jill Freeman of the Oregon Coalition of Health Care Purchasers (OCHCP) last year," said Susan Hayes , principal with Pharmacy Outcomes Specialists. "Jill believed that a similar program with local roots providing an open forum to discuss how employers and managed care organizations can implement best practices to manage the rising cost of pharmacy benefits would be beneficial on the west coast. We agreed and PBA West was born."
