Pharma CI Conference Amy Yueh Pays $52,000 to Apaporis LLC to Satisfy Judgment Against Her In Superior Court Of New Jersey Case
Date:1/26/2010

TEANECK, N.J., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Amy Yueh, the organizer of the Pharma CI Conference, who was sued in 2008 for alleged misappropriation of her employer's assets, has made payment of $52,000 by court order following judgment entered against her in the Superior Court of New Jersey. Yueh's trial took place in Hackensack, NJ.

Ellen Koblitz, Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey stated in her ruling that Yueh "clearly took advantage of her employer by misleading 2008 conference participants." The decision represents compensation for "lost opportunity to compete on a level playing field had Yueh left and set up her own conference without misleading the potential participants."

In reaching decision, Judge Koblitz heard 3 1/2 days of testimony by Amy Yueh under questioning by lawyers for the prosecution. The Judge also accepted the introduction of testimony provided in depositions by former SCIP (Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals) Presidents Cliff Kalb and Martha Matteo.

Yueh's motion to introduce testimony by Steve Levy of Fletcher CSI and her sister, Kelly Yueh, was denied by Judge Koblitz.

As part of the pre-trial proceedings counsel at Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, sanofi-aventis, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Novartis were subpoenaed in request of files detailing Yueh's email communications with various employees within the companies. The drug firms were helpful and the information provided was also recovered from her computer by forensic experts.

The legal action was initiated in the Superior Court of New Jersey against Amy Yueh and her companies Acralinx Agenda and Amintell LLC.

Further litigation is pending.
